Today in this article, we are going to identify the difference between vaccine certificate and international travel certificate. So without wasting any time let’s get started.
Difference Between Vaccine Certificate and International Travel Certificate
|Normal Vaccine Certificate||International Travel Certificate|
|Age||in years||in Date of Birth|
|Photo ID||Aadhar Card Number||Passport Number|
|Unique ID||Available||Not Available|
|Vaccine Type||Not Available||Available|
In the above table, we marked the major difference between vaccine certificate and international travel certificate. Now we are going to learn detailed information about the difference. Hope you have those two certificates. If you don’t have you can download it from Cowin‘s official website.
The default vaccine certificate you can use in any place inside Inda. But if you go outside of India, for there you need an international travel certificate. Because the international travel certificate has your passport ID as a photo ID. And in other countries, there only works Passport for Indian people. You can’t show the normal certificate which has linked with your Aadhar Card. This is the major Difference Between Vaccine Certificate and International Travel Certificate.
Normal vaccine certificate doesn’t have the certificate ID. But in the international travel certificate, you can see the Certificate ID on the top. This is a unique Certificate ID that other countries can use to track vaccination details. But in India, you should use the default COVID-19 vaccine certificate. You should only use the international travel certificate in other countries.
Note: Now Cowin gives the certificate ID in default COVID-19 Vaccination Certificate also. So now there has no difference between vaccine certificate and international travel certificate.
Age in Certificate
Normally you saw the age in your certificate in years. If you are 20 years old then in the certificate it will be written like Age: 20. But in the International travel certificate, you can see the age in the date of birth form. Here in the age section, your date of birth will be written, not the age in years. Although this is a minor difference, maybe it has a major impact in other countries.
Maybe it affects the timezone or other time-related things in other countries. So International Travel certificates use the date of birth instead of age in years. This is the minor age-related Difference Between Vaccine Certificate and the International travel certificate.
We all Indians usually know that our photo ID is Aadhar Card or Voter Card. Also some government certificates or PAN cards we can use for our Photo Identity. But in other countries, these IDs don’t make sense. They can’t recognize an Indian person with their Aadhar Card or Voter Card. So we use Passport to prove we are Indian citizens. That’s why Cowin also uses your Passport ID as a Photo ID in International Travel Certificate.
In the default certificate, Cowin uses Aadhar Card as a Photo ID which is only valid in India. You can see this on your certificate as ID Verified equally to Aadhar No. In International Travel certificate Photo ID written as Passport Number equal to your linked Passport ID Number. This is the photo ID Difference Between Vaccine Certificate and International Travel Certificate.
The unique ID only has in the default COVID-19 fully vaccinated certificate. But in the International travel certificate, there is no section called unique ID. This unique ID is only used by the Indian government to know all vaccinated candidate’s vaccination statuses.
In some certificates the unique ID section is blank. But some COVID-19 vaccine certificates have a unique ID. For those who have a blank unique ID, we think nowadays Cowin doesn’t want to reveal the unique ID show the leave it blanks. In some cases we saw, old printed certificates have a unique ID. Also, this may happen for technical error, which will be fixed by Cowin later.
International Travel certificates have a vaccine-type section, but in our default vaccine certificate, there is no vaccine type section at this time. Vaccine type is necessary for our COVID-19 vaccination certificate. Because there are many vaccines for different types of disease. For confirming that we take the COVID-19 vaccine, there is a section needed called Vaccine Type. In international travel, the certificate has the section but Cowin should add this section in the default vaccination certificate also. The vaccine type is equal to the COVID-19 vaccine, a non-replicating viral vector.
Note: Now, Cowin added the Vaccine Type section in the default COVID-19 vaccine certificate also.
Minor Difference Between Vaccine Certificate
Those certificates have Name, Gender, and Vaccine Name same. But some minor differences like age in year or date of birth, International travel certificate hasn’t the Vaccination center address, by which nurse we got the vaccine and also the batch number.
Nowadays, Cowin gives manufacture names in those certificates. The first dose and second dose date have those certificates but in the International travel certificate, it is in one line. In the end, now those certificate is valid in their area which we discuss at first. And we explain the difference between vaccine certificate and international travel certificate.
